About the Artist
Elizabeth Brim received her MFA from the University of Georgia and moved to Penland, North Carolina ten years ago to dedicate herself to pursuing a personal career in art while improving the condition of the Iron Studio at Penland School of Craft. She has been making narrative, life-size sculptures since 1988 that have feminine themes as a result of the strong influence of her mother and her grandmother.

What is mastery to Brim?
She still feels like she is bumbling around, but knows that her desire to do it better continually raises the bar. Standards get higher and she is meticulous about craft.
