May 7 -September 11                                    Telfair Museum, Savannah, GA

 

The Telfair Museum of Art, located in the historic district of Savannah, Georgia, is the South's first public art museum Founded through the bequest of Mary Telfair (1791-1875), a prominent local citizen, the museum opened in 1886 in the Telfair family’s renovated Regency-style mansion, known as the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences.

January 6 - April 28               Walter Anderson Museum, Ocean Springs, MS

The Walter Anderson Museum of Art (WAMA) opened in 1991 in historic Ocean Springs, Mississippi. WAMA is dedicated to the celebration of the works of Walter Inglis Anderson (1903-1965), American master, whose depictions of the plants, animals, and people of the Gulf Coast have placed him among the forefront of American painters of the Twentieth Century; and to his brothers, Peter Anderson (1901-1984), master potter and founder of Shearwater Pottery; and James McConnel Anderson (1907-1998), noted painter and ceramist.

June 22 - August 19                                        Danville Museum, Danville, VA

 

The Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History is located in the Sutherlin Mansion on Millionaires Row in Danville, Virginia. Built for William T. Sutherlin in 1859, the house has become well known as the "Last Capitol of the Confederacy" during the final week of the Civil War. In 1974, the house was opened as a Fine Arts & History Museum. The site has been designated as a Virginia Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. it is also a TimeTravelers site.

February 1 - April 27                            Courthouse Galleries, Portsmouth, VA

The Courthouse Galleries, housed in the 1846 Courthouse, are devoted to offering quality educational, cultural and aesthetic experiences in the arts through rotating visual art exhibits, lectures, classes and performances.

May 13 - August 30                            The Morris Museum of Art, Augusta, GA

The Morris Museum of Art, located on the Riverwalk in downtown Augusta, Georgia, is the first museum dedicated to the art and artists of the American South. The collection includes holdings of nearly 5,000 paintings, works on paper, photographs, and sculptures dating from the late-eighteenth century to the present. In addition to the permanent collection galleries, the museum hosts eight to ten temporary special exhibitions every year.
